Literature Text

Feeling the sand creep it's way through my toes,
I dig them deeper, till they are hidden from my view.
I feel every individual grain of sand.

Seeing the waves crashing on the shore where I am standing,
The water creeping it's way towards me timidly,
And then rushing to join the ocean, as if frightened.

Listening to the gulls screeching as they circle above me,
On their endless quest for food,
They do not bother me, this is their home.

Tasting the salt, that is lingering in the air.
It tingles as it rests on my tongue.
The taste disappears as soon as it comes, washed away.

Smelling the seaweed that rests, sleeping, on the warm sand.
The aroma fills my nostrils, as if invading.
No smell could belong here more.

I belong here.
I wrote this in Grade 3. It's not very good, but Grade 3?
